Barry Smith
Legal Director
Barry has over thirty years experience in the legal industry. Originally qualifying in South Africa as an Attorney, Conveyancer and Notary Public, he then later re-qualified in the UK as a Solicitor, and then in the Isle of Man as an Advocate and Notary Public (IOM). Barry was appointed to the board of Equiom in November 2005 as Legal Director.
Barry specialises in company, commercial, trust and fund industry law. Coupled with over eleven years experience in e-Gaming law, Barry brings a wealth of knowledge in licensing applications, regulatory knowledge and commercial agreements. Involvement in Equiom’s property portfolio is also part of Barry’s day to day role – establishing and acting as trustee for a variety of property funds.
