The Isle of Man is acknowledged to be a leading and well regulated international financial centre with a proactive and innovative approach to business.
Why is the Island so highly regarded? Reasons include:
"AAA" JurisdictionStandard and Poor's, the external ratings agency, confirmed in December 2008 that the Isle of Man Government has retained its ‘AAA' rating, the highest rating that it awards.
Said S&P: "The Isle's government balance sheet remains very strong, and is underpinned by net assets estimated at around 50 per cent of GDP in 2008."

Isle of Man on OECD 'White List'
On 2nd April 2009, at the meeting of the G20 world leaders in London, it was announced that in its aim to strengthen financial supervision and regulation, action would be taken against non-cooperative jurisdictions, including tax havens. Later in the day, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation & Development (OECD) published an updated list of countries which its Global Forum has assessed against the international standard for exchange of tax information. The list was divided into 3 distinct sections: 'White, Grey and Black' . The Isle of Man is one of only 7 ‘offshore centres' to be named on the ‘white list' of 40 countries.

The Isle of Man won the 'Best International Financial Centre' Award at the 9th annual International Investment Fund & Product Awards 2008. This is the 7th time the Isle of Man has won the 'Best International Finance Centre' category at the annual International Investment awards, adjudicated by an independent panel of life and investment experts.
